The writings of a great man. Pet therapy is a brilliant idea. This is a wonderful book, and the concept of pet therapy is a blessing to our world. This book is a pleasure to read.

I purchased this book while writing a research paper about animal-assited therapy. I beleive it is a necessary surce for anyone reserching this topoc because Levinson is the primry modern pioneer in this field. The second addition contains all of the original text, but with added comments, which helps bridge the 40 year gap between when the book was written and now.

Levinson is the "father" of modern AAT and its many uses.

As a student learning to become a counselor, I was very impressed with the writing and case studies that Dr. Levinson uses in his writings. It is hard to find good research that lets the professional counselor/student learn more about using AAT with their clients. The reading was on a professional level. yet not so technical that you lose the insight Levinson shows in his theory of using pets in therapy.
