About the Author
Katharine J. Lualdi (Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania) is coeditor of Penitence in the Age of Reformations (Ashgate, 2000) and Handbook for Curates: A Late Medieval Manual of Pastoral Care (The Catholic University of America Press, forthcoming). She has also authored numerous articles and book chapters on sixteenth-century French Catholicism. She teaches history and religion at the University of Southern Maine.

Students renting beware!

If you're renting the book for class and using Kindle for PC, there are going to be a few excerpts missing. The first piece is Bartolome's In Defense of Indians, there are a few more that my class hasn't gotten to. Apparently this only happens on the Kindle for PC, as the missing excerpt shows up on the iPad. I've contacted Amazon and they said they're contacting the publisher. If you're going to be renting this book for class, I'd check first with Amazon to see if the problem has been resolved. ONLY applies to Kindle for PC.

Unfortunately I was sent the wrong edition (3rd instead of 4th) which set me back a bit. I was properly and promptly reimbursed.
