About the Author
The Authors: Richard P. Harmond is Associate Professor at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, where he has taught since 1957. He co-authored A Documentary History of Long Island (1967), and he co-edited Technology in the Twentieth Century (1983) and A Biographical Dictionary of American and Canadian Naturalists and Environmentalists (1997).
Thomas J. Curran is Associate Professor of History at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, where he has taught since 1956. He is the author of Xenophobia and Immigration (1976) and co-editor of The Immigrant Experience in America (1977).
